My Dermatologist Visit and Updated Skincare Routine

Hi everyone! Once again I must apologize for my lack of blog posts. Finals week has been a real pain in the butt but I'm finally done! The all-nighters and endless studying finally paid off because I'm done with this year and I can enjoy my summer now!(:
So in case you guys didn't know, last Friday I went to the dermatologist for the first time on account of my acne. I showed up with no face makeup on and ready to ask for antibiotics. Thankfully, asking was not necessary. I just talked to the doctor about how long I'd had problems with my acne and whether that day was a good or bad acne day. She then proceeded to tell me my prescription which was antibiotics, epiduo, a benzyl peroxide morning cleanser, and a less harsh night time cleanser. Antibiotics are less tough than accutane and given to patients with not as severe acne. I will have to take antibiotics twice a day, once in the morning and once at night for three months. These pills have to be taken after full meals and with lots of water. I'm also not allowed to lay down at least 30 minutes after I take the pill because the pill can cause major heartburn. Antibiotics will also pills for make your skin extremely sun sensitive so daily doses of sunscreen are a must. Also, the reason you can only take these pills for three months at a time is because they are pretty tough on the body. These pills may seem like a hassle but it will pay off when I have clear skin(; Epiduo is the topical treatment that my doctor prescribed to me. Epiduo is said to be like the topical version of accutane. This cream/gel is applied at bedtime and I am slowly easing into using it nightly. I will be using epiduo for at least 6 months. While the antibiotics will be clearing my acne, epiduo will help to keep my skin clear and fight acne scars. The morning cleanser my doctor recommended was Neutrogena's Clear Pore which is a benzyl peroxide cream cleanser. My night time cleanser that I use is the Cetaphil cleanser. Other than these things that my dermatologist either prescribed or recommended, I'm not using anything else. i did recently buy  a Clinique spot treatment, but I'm not going to use it quite yet because I don't want to put my skin through too much haha. I think maybe after I get off antibiotics.
